The Bombay Textile Research Association (BTRA) plans to organise the 57th Joint Technological Conference in association with Ahmedabad Textile Industry's Research Association (ATIRA), South India Textile Research Association (SITRA) and Northern India Textile Research Association (NITRA) on February 17 and 18 at BTRA premises, Mumbai.
Textile Commissioner Kavita Gupta will inaugurate the conference and Rajesh Nath, Managing Director of German Engineering Federation (VDMA - Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau) will deliver the keynote address, according to a BTRA release.
Thirty research papers covering subjects like product development, emerging areas in textiles, protective textiles, eco-friendly, water conservation, spinning and geosynthetics will be presented.
Papers will be based on recent R&D trends which is of immediate importance to the textile industry. There will be discussions on R&D by the four textile research associations and about the possibility of adopting such methods in the industry. There will be a dedicated session on ‘geosynthetics’ which will be jointly organised with Office of the Textile Commissioner, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
German textile machinery companies have also shown interest in participating by way of presentation and networking with participants.
