Oerlikon Neumag To Display Efficient Nonwovens Production Solutions At Index 2017

Oerlikon Neumag plans to showcase a portfolio which enables efficient manufacturing of nonwovens at Index 2017 to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, between April 4 and April 7. At its stand no 2314, Oerlikon Neumag experts will showcase process solutions for industrial applications like geotextiles and nonwovens, according to a release.

The strength of nonwovens is hugely important in industrial applications. Oerlikon Neumag spunbond technologies save more than 5% of raw materials, which has been demonstrated by a benchmark comparison with standard products in Europe. The new generation of the Oerlikon Neumag spunbond systems cuts energy consumption by virtually 20%.

“By focusing on industrial applications for our spunbond technology, we have built up comprehensive knowhow covering the overall process, including the necessary in-line further processing. With this, we are able to offer our customers appropriate production solutions for many such applications,” Oerlikon Neumag’s Business Development (Nonwoven) Product Manager Ingo Mählmann.

Oerlikon Neumag will premiere a new forming table for meltblown systems. It can be moved horizontally and vertically under the nozzle and has various storage areas, which can be multiply segmented and custom-adjusted. This enables extremely high formation flexibility and hence increased product diversity.

The new FAUS system control and operating unit enables comprehensive automation of meltblown systems and ensures a considerable increase in their productivity and reliability. In its expandable delivery state, FAUS comprises five different modes of operation with a total of eight different programs, which guarantee that future high-end meltblown nonwovens can be manufactured even more efficiently.

In airlaid technology, Oerlikon Neumag solutions have been further optimised with the aim of catering to market demands. In addition to high flexibility of the forming technology that enables production of simple wipes, wet wipes and flushable wipes all the way through to particularly high-end tableware, hygiene and medical nonwovens, there is a special focus on commercially attractive production speeds and system throughputs.

The Oerlikon Neumag airlaid technology achieves these as a result of its new forming head, with which extremely high requirements and appropriate consistency of fibre laying can be carried out homogeneously even in the case of extremely thin nonwovens, the release said.
