Yamuna Machine Works Ltd lives a tradition of innovative engineering that is customer centric. The approach has facilitated development of cutting edge machines and built customer relations that are growing stronger with every repeat order. Recently at ITMA Barcelona, Textile Excellence met Prashant Mangukia - the dynamic young director who is spearheading Yamuna's future growth and customer relations. How Yamuna Machines has built its reputation in textile finishing and processing equipment technology? We have been making machinery for textile processing, finishing and allied industry for almost three decades. This is a sizably long period to master the know-how of machine making as well as textile processing and finishing technology. Like any other leading machine maker, we keep improving upon design and performance of our products and we have built a tradition of innovative engineering that is customer centric. The reputation of Yamuna and our products are the end result or is an index of customer satisfaction. How has been the show for you and what are the machines on display? At Yamuna, we have extraordinary range of state-of-the-art textile machinery which includes Hot Air Stenters, Denim Finishing Range, Hydraulic Jiggers, Coating Lines, Singeing Machines, Polymerisers, Thermobonding Lines, Dye Padders, Washing, Drying, Shrinking Range, Rope Scouring, and Dipping Lines. But it is not possible to bring all of these machines to a show. At ITMA 2019, we showcased our latest Hot Air Stenter for knitted fabrics with several upgrades. Along with it, we displayed open width washing range and coating line, which are all manufactured to perform at global standards of excellence. The show has been satisfactory for us, we had few serious discussions while many have shown interest in our product range. How is the market sentiment and what you are looking forward to? The general market sentiment, as I feel, is low. The trade friction between two of the largest economies would have impact across the textile and apparel manufacturing chain too. This will eventually have adverse impact on capital investment in the sector as well. However, this is not something new and there will always be an upside after any slack period. I believe, this is the time that textile manufacturers should upgrade or select technology for investment so that they are ready when the market thrives again. As far as Yamuna Machine is concerned, we have a large number of reputed textile manufacturers as our customers and we are now working on a few new projects. We have also finalised a complete finishing line for a woven workwear project in Russia. This is a singeing to finishing range with a capacity of 1.5 million metres per month. Apart from Russia, we are working with our customers in USA, Middle East and Bangladesh. So, we are positive and optimistic inspite of the weak sentiments and hopefully, we shall have enough work in hand.
