Textile Chemist J.K. Srivastava Admitted As FSDC UK

J. K. Srivastava, B. Sc, MBA, has been admitted as Fellow of the Society of Dyers and Colourist (FSDC) U.K. and awarded an Chartered Colourist, (CCol)  by the Society  in October, 2019 based on his contribution and work experience in the field of Coloration for Synthetic Fibers via Spin Dyeing technique, wherein the color concentrate termed as masterbatch is added to the  polymer prior to the melt-spinning process. In this process, the use of water is largely eliminated and thus environmental sustainability of the products is enhanced. Prior to Fellowship conferment he had been elected an Associate, ASDC, benchmarked by NARIC an equivalent to U.K. Bachelor Honors Degree in Colour Science and Technology by The Royal Chartered Society and Colorist U.K. in the month of May 2017 [caption id="attachment_17854" align="alignleft" width="200"]J. Srivastava[/caption] Srivastava is professionally qualified in textile chemistry and has vast experience of more than 35 years in various capacities in  synthetic fibre, textile dyeing and processing and research. He is a specialist in dyes and pigments and their application both for conventional (exhaust dyeing) as well as mass colouration (via solid master batches or colour concentrates) systems. He has many technical papers to his credit which have been published in prestigious magazines e.g. Colour Research Application, U.S.A., Journal of SDC U.K., Indian Journal of Textile Research, Man Made Textile in India and Colour Age. Keeping in view his contributions in the field of textile trade and industry, and textile education, Textile Association (India), has awarded him Fellow of Textile Association, FTA in the month of March, 2019. He is also a Senior Member of American Association of Textile Chemist and Colourist, USA. He is working as Senior General Manager (R&D) in Poddar Pigments Limited, Jaipur (India) for the past 13 years. Apart from his main responsibility for new color developments, he is involved in QC and customer relationship management. Also product promotion concepts were developed under his lead. He is a responsible for functional products such as optical brighteners, UV–absorber and others as per market requirement.
