BGMEA Pleads With Western Buyers To Not Cancel Orders

As the Covid-19 pandemic spreads, apparel shopping globally has come to a near standstill. This has led many international brands to cancel garment orders placed with various South Asian countries. The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has pleaded with apparel brands to not cancel orders and turn away at this time, but to work out ways to continue to source from the country. Bangladesh’s economy is largely dependent on garment exports, and cancellations and deferred orders will mean partial or complete shutdown of many garment factories, in turn, severely affecting the livelihoods of the large workforce employed in this industry. https://youtu.be/oGbx-t1Y0ts
