Kanoria Africa Textiles Plc, a subsidiary of Kanoria Chemicals & Industries Ltd. has been operating seamlessly, and expanding capacities even during the peak of the pandemic. [caption id="attachment_21350" align="alignleft" width="300"] Sudhanshu Singhal, CEO, Kanoria Africa Textiles[/caption] According to Sudhanshu Singhal, CEO, Kanoria Africa Textiles, "We have forged strategic partnerships with local Ethiopan cotton farmers and ginners to ensure consistency of our raw material inputs at all times. Even during last year's peak Covid period, we could operate seamlessly keeping our entire operations running without laying off a single employee or reduction in wages. On the contrary, we have been rewarding our people for superlative performance and team work demonstrated over the last few months." Kanoria Africa Textiles set up a manufacturing plant in Ethiopia in October 2015, to initially manufacture 12 million metres of denim per annum. The state-of-the-art plant is equipped with comprehensive waste management systems and non-polluting electric boilers, making it a zero effluent facility and one of the first green denim plants in the world. The plant uses open end spinning and rope dyeing technology. "We have expanded our garment manufacturing capacities from 30,000 units per month to 1.5 lakh pieces per month, both in-house and through taking over and supporting good and compliant set-ups across the country with working capital, business and raw material. Our team of product and process experts closely work with partner factories to enhance productivity, improve process and overall quality and delivery performance, thus enabling holistic growth, and supporting the nation to create value for its people and develop an ecosystem to be able to deliver superior product and service to our customers," said Singhal. The company is now planning to further its exports, and is looking to tie up and forge strategic long term partnerships with potential customers of denim apparel.
