TAI Mumbai Seminar Highlights Opportunities In Techtex

The Textile Association (India), Mumbai Unit’s seminar on `Technical Textiles – Need of Today and Tomorrow’, highlighted the importance of technical textiles in the Indian textile industry. The seminar was inaugurated by the Chief Guest G. V. Aras, Consultant & Strategic Business Advisor and Former Director, A.T.E. Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. In his address, he said, “Technical textiles industry affords innumerable opportunities, but we are unable to grab these opportunities and prove ourselves in the international market. Bulk manufacturing would enable us to fulfil the demands of the international market. Skill development in this sector is much needed, and textile education institutes can play an important role here. The Indian industry proved itself during the pandemic by becoming the second largest producer of PPE kits and medical kits. With production in China slowing down, India should seize this opportunity.” The Textile Association (India), Mumbai Unit felicitated Pramod Khosla, Chairman & Managing Director, Khosla Profil Pvt. Ltd with `The Lifetime Achievement Award’ and Narendra Dalmia, Director & CEO, Strata Geosystems (India) Pvt. Ltd. with `The Industry Excellence Award’ for their outstanding contribution in the field of technical textiles.
