Rabatex Industries’ recently launched fabric sampling machines are becoming a rage with the Indian textile industry. Within a short period, Rabatex has gained prominent mills such as Shahi Exports, Nitin Spinners, Century Textiles, Nandan Denim, Shukhvarsha (Noida), Kanchan – Bhilwara, Standard Textiles – USA, Pt Indo Liberty – Indonesia, AysunTextil – Turkey, among others, as its clients for this particular machine. In an exclusive interview with Reena Mital, Haresh Panchal, MD, Rabatex Industries, tells us how he achieved this feat. Tell us about these new sampling machines that you have launched in the market? We have launched sampling machines – fabric weaving sampling machine, small width (50 cm) rapier machine, mini warping machine of 50 cm, advanced sample warper for short length production upto 600 meters length from minimum yarn 16 packages, single end cone to cone sizing machines. In these sampling machines, we are the only producers in India, and among the very few in the world. There is just one Chinese and one Taiwanese company in this segment. I am proud to say that we have been successful in introducing a machine that has helped in import substitution. Many of our customers have placed repeat order with us after comparative performance overview. What inspired you to move into these machines? The idea came to me eight years ago when I was in Italy. Someone told me that in the periphery of Milan alone, there are more than 300 fabric sampling machines for preparation of short length fabrics as well as exclusive fabrics for major brand . That’s when I realised how Italy had come to be known as the innovator in textile and fashion design. I realised that the contribution of machinery manufacturer is crucial for the development of this industry. That’s when I decided to make the effort for manufacturing complete range of fabric sampling machine. We invested heavily in R&D for designing and developing the fabric sampling machine. I can confidently say that we have come out with a machine that is far superior in performance compared to what existed in the market. With this machine, mills can develop small lots, samples with ease. The sample warping machine can produce 500 meters within the shortest possible time and effort. New designs can be developed very easily. What do your customers feel about these machines? The industry has been very appreciative of these machines, and of our efforts. One of my customers said that my sampling machine has enabled him to become more competitive in the global market. Another customer asked me the additional percentage I was expecting for repeat orders. Not discount, but a premium! That’s the real credit for me. Your message to the industry? We have invested in hard work, in strong principles and ethics for the last 60 years to reach this stage. We have had a clear vision of achieving global quality standards and global acceptance. I’ve stood by this vision despite some very hard times. Nothing comes overnight. I believe hard work and investment put in to develop good technology, with good intention, towards import substitution, will be successful. Indian customers will willingly and proudly pay the price if you have international standard quality.
