Employment Opportunities Booming In Tiruppur

While India’s textile and clothing exports have been sluggish and production in many textile clusters has slowed down, Tiruppur remains upbeat even in the midst of the various challenges.

Tiruppur cluster has reasons to be optimistic as American and European retailers have started placing large orders to Tirupur exporters, similar to what the cluster had experienced before the pandemic. Considering the fact that Bangladesh would have the benefit of 'Least Developed Nation' and be eligible for duty-free imports to Europe only till December 2027, large companies based in Europe have decided to set up large-scale production facilities in India.

Exporters in Tiruppur are seeing a gradual pick-up in order bookings, and along with that, there is an increase in demand for manpower. As of now, there is a high demand for jobs such as tailors, checkers, assistants, administration, merchandising, etc. Large manufacturing companies are willing to hire people with limited experience and some are even hiring unskilled people without any experience. Through skill-development centres, companies would train the un-skilled manpower according to their skill set requirement and absorb them on regular scales.

According to the President, Tiruppur Exporters' Association - K.M. Subramanian, people are required for various levels of work such as tailors, checkers, assistants, printing, knitting, dyeing and compacting. People who are looking for jobs will have the option to choose their favourite jobs.

He also said that unemployed youth who are looking for job opportunities from all over the state of Tamil Nadu could approach Tiruppur Exporters' Association. They would definitely be assured of a job with attractive salary including free food and accommodation.
