The Prime Minister Mega Integrated Textile Region and
Apparel scheme gained fresh momentum after the Hon’ble Minister of Textiles
chaired a comprehensive review meeting on December 4, 2025 to assess
implementation progress and upcoming milestones. Senior officials from the
Ministry of Textiles and participating states attended the meeting, which
highlighted strong advancement across infrastructure, land allotment, and
investment mobilisation.
Officials informed the Minister that external infrastructure
projects worth ₹1,862.24 crore have received approval, while ₹564.72 crore has
already been spent on ground works. Internal infrastructure works valued at
₹1,444.50 crore are progressing across approved locations, positioning the
parks to meet global manufacturing benchmarks. A total of 1,360 acres of land
has been allotted so far at highly competitive rates, strengthening the
attractiveness of PM MITRA Parks for large scale textile investors.
Investment interest under the scheme has reached ₹42,491
crore, reflecting rising confidence among domestic and global manufacturers.
Detailed Project Reports aligned to global standards and Industry 4.0
capabilities have been finalised, covering investments of nearly ₹13,000 crore.
These DPRs integrate advanced utilities, plug and play factory infrastructure,
digital monitoring systems, and sustainability frameworks.
The Ministry has released ₹160 crore under the Development
of Common Infrastructure Scheme to states, accelerating execution timelines.
Key public private partnership documents including DPRs, Development Concession
Agreements, and Requests for Proposal have been vetted and submitted to the PPP
Appraisal Committee under the Department of Economic Affairs for the selection
of Master Developers in Gujarat, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh. National Project
Group appraisal has been completed for Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh, while
other proposals remain under active evaluation.
Land allotment applications have gone live in Dhar, Madhya
Pradesh, and expressions of interest have been invited for parks in Tamil Nadu
and Maharashtra. The foundation stone for the PM MITRA Park in Madhya Pradesh
has already been laid, marking visible progress on the ground.
The Minister expressed satisfaction over the pace of
implementation and acknowledged the coordinated efforts of central and state
governments. The scheme aims to enhance scale, competitiveness, and integration
across the textile value chain while ensuring global standards of circularity
and sustainability. India’s textile and apparel sector, valued at over US$165
billion, stands to gain significantly through these world class manufacturing
hubs.
