Xaar has achieved a major breakthrough in industrial inkjet
printing after successfully collaborating with bespoke machinery specialist
Inkatronic to fast-track innovation in décor applications. The project
demonstrates how Xaar’s Aquinox printhead and an enhanced fluid development
process can deliver high quality printing on porous wood substrates used in
furniture, wall panels, and interior surfaces.
The collaboration proved that high viscosity water-based
inks can convert cost effective wood materials into premium décor products
without compromising print reliability or definition. Inkatronic adopted Nazdar
pre-approved inks and validated performance on absorbent wood substrates in
under a month, sharply reducing development timelines and upfront investment.
The Aquinox printhead enabled stable jetting at higher
viscosities while maintaining sharp image quality and extended open time.
Reduced clogging and precise ink placement improved efficiency and minimised
wastage. The process also delivered sustainability gains through single pass
printing and elimination of energy intensive UV curing.
Industry experts noted that this project highlights the
growing role of inkjet in advanced manufacturing. The solution supports
scalable production while meeting rising demand for sustainable and high value
interior design solutions. The development positions inkjet as a reliable and
commercially viable technology for next generation décor manufacturing.
