Indore's RMG makers record higher sales

There are over 3,000 garment manufacturing units in Indore and the industry size is about Rs 1,500 crore - Rs 1,800 crore, industry players said. Sale of readymade garments from Indore is expected to rise by over 20% this festive season due to a rise in demand from neighbouring states and a strong local market. Moreover, anticipation of higher yield due to good monsoon is expected to keep the market sentiment up.

There are over 3,000 garment manufacturing units in Indore and the industry size is about Rs 1,500 crore - Rs 1,800 crore, industry players said. Readymade garment manufacturers of Indore, the hub for readymade kidswear have received good orders this season.

Indore readymade garment manufacturers have bagged good orders from southern states such as Karnataka and Tamil Nadu while demand has also been good from Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra, local industry players said. Garment market has picked up in the festival season and is expected to improve further in coming months ahead of festivals and weddings. Nigam said, "Indore is known for its kidswear but this season orders for womenswear and menswears have also increased from traditional markets of Indore." Besides out station orders, local retail demand has also improved significantly.
