Chinese Company To Introduce Eco-Friendly And Comfortable Wear In The World Market

China plans to place a unique two-in-one benefit product in the inter-textile exhibition that is slated to be held from October 11 to 13, 2016 at Shanghai. The product is a brain child of a local corporate which is a subsidiary of Unifi Inc.

Unifi Textiles Suzhou Company Ltd (UTSC) from China has fulfilled its keenness in achieving break-through in environment friendly apparels that are comfortable to wear. The company is a subsidiary of Unifi Inc.

UTSC has blended two technologies to achieve the goal by combing performance features with REPREVE which is trademark brand that uses fibres generated from recycled materials that include plastic water bottles. UTSC is of the view that by combining both the features of comfortable to wear and earth-friendly their unique selling proposition will get stronger.

Jay Hertwig, Vice President of global brand sales, marketing and product development, Unifi Inc, expressed the opinion, "We are in a strong position by virtue of being a leading global producer of branded performance fibres and recycled fibres. Our subsidiary is now taking it a step further by providing consumers with the best of both. This is an unbeatable USP that we have come up with."

"Unifi has the capacity to source globally enabling customers to feel confident about quality of our innovative products regardless of where they choose to conduct their businesses," he added.

The parent company of UTSC, Unifi Inc has 45 years of rich experience that is geared by manufacturing and creating differentiation for its customers. The company has built its success story around being able to offer premium value-added yarns that can boast of functional benefits as well as added comfort and aesthetic advantages. The innovators who were behind REPREVE the trademark brand took a good three years to develop UTSC's two-in-one edged product bearing in mind that quality and performance come first. The added benefit they are offering in this product is that it has been recycled. UTSC President Ed Wickes felt confident about the market response and said, "Our consumers are sure to appreciate earth-friendly products that are made to perform. Our proposal is more attractive as we don't rely on performance alone. We endeavour to achieve performance that will prove to be a boon for the environment."

"Blending our branded technologies with REPREVE ensures that all the functional benefits consumers enjoy in our slated market segment bear the added advantage of being recycled," he added. Listing the branded technologies that are blended with REPREVE, he gave out the following names: SORBTEK moisture management, REFLEXX stretch, SOFTEC high resiliency technology and COTTON-LIKE a technology that provides natural look and feel.

To augment its new blended technology drive, Unifi also plans to expand global availability of REPREVE recycled fibre with the help of a Turkey-based licensed manufacturer KORTEKS and Sun Chemical, a distributor of REPREVE in Taiwan. With able assistance forthcoming form these two collaborators, Unifi will be in a position to shorten lead time and widely expand the distribution network.

Speaking about the collaborators, the Unifi spokesperson said, "KORTEKS, is based in Turkey and happens to be the largest European fully-integrated polyester continuous filament yarn manufacturer. KORTEKS will manufacture and sell REPREVE recycled fiber in Turkey. The second collaborator, Sun Chemical was established in 1957 and has served the fibre industry in Taiwan since 1970. It will be the sole distributor of REPREVE fibre in Taiwan. It will endeavor to meet the growing demand for REPREVE in the area."

Roger Berrier, President and chief operating officer of Unifi Inc, the parent company elaborated, stating, "We will globally expand our REPREVE manufacturing capabilities. This highlights our commitment to the brand and enables us to serve our customers worldwide in an enhanced manner." "Our expansion plan is not only about increasing global availability of the brand.
