Japanese Flat Knitting Machine Manufacturer Shima Seiki Opens Subsidiary In Vietnam

Leading Japanese flat knitting machine manufacturer Shima Seiki Manufacturing Ltd has opened a wholly owned subsidiary in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam this month. The development is expected to strengthen company’s sales, service and demonstration capacity for its product line. The establishment of a subsidiary linked directly to the company’s headquarters would reassure customers planning to do business in Vietnam.

There has been growing demand for Shima Seiki’s computerised flat knitting machines and computerised cutting machines from Vietnam due to its lower wages as well as plentiful workforce, besides investments from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea.

This is especially so, due to a Free Trade Agreement with the European Union which will take effect from 2018.

The company plans to display its computerised flat knitting machine SVR122 with features digital stitch control and spring type moveable sinker system at its open house event which will be held at its premises.

Other machines like the compact and economical SSR112 computerised flat knitting machine will be displayed besides P-CAM182 multi-ply computerised cutting machine suited to the automotive industry.

The SDS-ONE APEX3 3D design system capable of realistic simulation which allows for virtual sampling, minimising the need for costly, time and resource-consuming sample-making, would also be displayed.
