AESA's Air-Conditioning Business In MMF Sector Remains Its Core Strength

What are the products AESA is displaying at ITME 2016?

AESA Air Engineering is a leader in the field of industrial air conditioning systems and solutions. We provide reliable solutions for textile air engineering, industrial ventilation and air conditioning as well as dust filtration, waste collection and removal in the textile besides paper, tobacco and food industries.

 

How has business been at the exhibition?

Enquiries are there but the problem is that in this scenario, people are simply not talking business. But we have received few enquiries from new customers as well.

 

Is it because of demonetisation?

Actually, it is a mix of several factors. It's a recession, it's a cotton problem, then there is demonetisation, then there is GST. So it is a mix of several uncertainties due to which investors seem to have adopted a wait and watch approach.

 

What is the feedback coming from the market? After the prevailing uncertainty goes away, would entrepreneurs be keen to make investments?  

Honestly speaking, in this fair there are very few decision makers. Here it is either technical head or commercial head who is actually visiting. Investment decisions are actually taken by top decision maker. Such decision makers were there at the ITMA Milan fair but they are not here in Mumbai. So, that in itself is a big message. However, since these technical and commercial people have positive vibes, it means that something is around the corner. Therefore, despite prevailing uncertainties, sentiment is good.

 

What is your market share in India?

The Indian market is divided into various geographical territories. So, if we talk about overall business, our market share would be say about 20-25% if we club all these territories. However, if you talk about business region wise, then we largely dominate the northern Indian market. I would say that we are weak in western India. We have a presence across polyester filament yarn manufacturing, FDY and DTY projects. However, we are not so active in the cotton textile manufacturers of We stern India. The South Indian market is dominated by another player. That is how the humidification and waste collection industry in India is structured. We have been lucky to get into air-conditioning for POY and synthetic yarn business. This has become our strength.

 

Could you explain what it takes to maintain the balance between energy & efficiency?

This is an important discussion point when we talk of air humidification and waste collection solutions with customers. They are serious about energy savings and want to save more energy from the air humidification systems which they have installed. We are doing a lot of energy management projects through our Digivent systems. We have fully automated systems which helps us to save energy consumption for our customers.

 

How many customers do you have all across India?

We have about 400 installations all across India. This is a big market for our kind of product.

 

What are other customer initiatives you plan to launch?

In the present scenario, we plan to support our customers by helping them to reduce cost as well as get the maximum out of their systems by increasing efficiency. We plan to help them reduce their maintenance costs. We will also be launching our spare parts portal very soon.

 

This portal will have pictures of our spare parts with the numbers of these parts. Sometimes people tend to make mistakes in selecting spare parts despite having manuals. So, this portal with pictures of spare parts would help them choose the right parts more easily. We will be launching this spare parts portal four months from now. This will help minimise wrong placement of orders and other problems.
