AT&DC Plans Regional Hub In Gujarat

Apparel Training and Design Centre (AT&DC), which is India’s largest quality vocational training provider for the apparel sector, met senior Gujarat government officials recently. Talks were conducted about how to expand AT&DC’s footprint by opening a new centre as well as setting up a regional training hub at Ahmedabad or Gandhinagar in order to fulfill the steadily expanding requirement for skilled youth in textile and related sectors.

 

AT&DC Director General & CEO Darlie Koshy and Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) Vice Chairman H K L Magu met Gujarat Chief Secretary J N Singh along with other senior government officials. Koshy stated that ATDC has state-of-the-art infrastructure to offer shop floor, supervisory and managerial skills to create an industry- ready workforce. This would enable ATDC to make new skill development forays in Gujarat as it sets up a regional training hub in Ahmedabad or Gandhinagar, along with additional training centres in the state.

 

AT&DC plans to set up an Indian International Skill Centre with the National Skill Development Corporation, additional AT&DC centres in major textile-apparel clusters in Gujarat as well as apparel design centres, besides start B. Voc. courses in the state.

 

Headquartered in Gurugram, AT&DC which functions under the aegis of the AEPC has emerged as India’s largest vocational training network for the apparel sector whose presence currently spans 200 ATDCs including 65 ATDC vocational institutes and over 135 AT&DC centres and skill camps at major apparel clusters spread across 23 states and 85 cities across India.
