Rieter launches E 80 Comber in India ITME 2012

On Day 1 of India ITME 2012, Dilip Jiwrajka, Managing Director, Alok Industries, one of the largest integrated mills in India, inaugurated Rieter’s new E 80 Comber.

Speaking to Textile Excellence, Edda Walraf, Vice President, Marketing - Spun Yarn Systems, Rieter Machine Works Ltd., said, "This is the first time that we are showcasing this machine in any exhibition.  From March 2013, we will begin supplying this machine from India to the Indian customers."

Nahar Spinning is the first Indian buyer of the machine, and Alok Industries is also considering investing in the same. Unveiling the machine for Indian customers at Reiter's stall Dilip Jiwrajka said, "We have already ordered the new machine, for our expansion plans. Rieter always brings out the best technology."

This is most productive comber available in the market today, with a capacity of more than 80 kgs per hour, and ensures significantly high sliver and yarn quality.  According to Edda, "There are a number of factors that will have to be taken into account while investing in this machine. Productivity is very high, almost 400 meters per minute. It is, however, not as flexible as in terms of raw material. Here, the raw material has to be of a certain quality, and volume, and atmospheric conditions have to be maintained.  Also, as output on the machines is very large, one has to consider the market facts because market will have to be able to absorb high production."

Edda believes that the E 80 comber will find a good market in India which is a leading market for combed yarns.

Other new machines from Rieter

Rieter has on offer some other new technologies for the Indian market too. Besides E 80, another completely new machine is the new double head draw-frame SB-D 22, which has the highest productivity level in the market today, informed Edda. "The machine without autoleveling guarantees maximum machine efficiency with a unique can changer up to 1000 mm diameter.  The machine is being manufactured in India" she said. The machine concept is labor- and space-saving. At delivery speeds of up to 1100 m/min the mill-proven Rieter 4-over-3 drafting system ensures outstanding yarn quality. Energy consumption is, on the other hand, some 20 % lower than competitor's machines, the company claims. Also on display is the J 20 airjet machine, a new technology from Rieter. With this introduction, Rieter now supplies all four spinning systems in the market. Rieter is the only company that has a portfolio of all the four systems. "Now we can give what the customer needs as per their strategies, applications, and raw material supplies," stresses Edda. She believes that this is a unique offer from Rieter, "We now not just give a machine, but help the customer choose the right technology. We can prove what is right for customer with a lot of samples, for better understanding of what they can do with the yarn. This makes our offering very complete and very unique in the market," said Edda. Rieter technologies have been in sync with the developments in downstream technologies. "As weaving and processing technologies improve, the better the yarn quality has to be. With Rieter technologies, we hope to support the industry in its move towards higher quality levels," Edda concludes.
