Maharashtra Reserves 93 Hectares For Textile Park At Lohara MIDC In Yavatmal District

The Maharashtra state government has reserved 93 hectares of land in Lohara MIDC area of Yavatmal district to set up a textile park, where work is all set to begin shortly, according to Maharashtra’s Minister of State for Energy Madan Yerewar, who is also the guardian minister of Yavatmal district.

A joint meeting of the concerned departments and the Yavatmal district administration was held at Mantralaya on March 16 to discuss the issue, which was chaired by Yerawar. He said that setting up a textile park in the Yavatmal MIDC area had been pending for a long time due to non-availability of land, after the project was initiated by then Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan.

He said that the textile park will provide employment to youth of the region as well as provide better avenues for farmers to get maximum benefit. Basic infrastructure including supply of energy, water and provision for sewerage water treatment plant would also be set up at the site, he said, adding that a 132 KV electricity sub-station would also be set up.

He said that there would be uninterrupted power supply to Yavatmal district. After the Deoli-Yavatmal power supply line is commissioned, the issue of electricity cut due to snags in the high tension power line between Wardha and Yavatmal as well as Bhugaon-Pusad would be solved, he said.

He also said that three solar energy stations would be set up, with one each in Yavatmal, Solapur and Ahmadnagar. A solar energy plant would come up in Manjarda village under Kolambi-Akola Bazar feeder in Yavatmal, he said.
