525 New Textile Companies Came Up In Xinjiang In 2016

Textile and apparel companies in Xinjiang amounted to 2,083 by the end of 2016, including 119 of XPCC companies, up by around 525 compared with 2015.

Textile industry made great contribution to economic development and creating employment opportunity in Xinjiang. Fixed asset investment of textile and apparel industry in 2016 amounted to 47.97 billion yuan, and increased value in above-scaled textile mills reached 8.040 billion yuan. In 2016, new jobs in textile and apparel industry reached 111,800 in Xinjiang.

Fixed asset investment of textile and apparel industry may be above 72 billion yuan in Xinjiang in 2017, up by 50% over the year, new jobs are expected to be around 100,000, and added industrial output may be above 40%, and the region could attract more than 400 companies from inland China.
