TAI's Weaving Tech Seminar Evokes Good Response

The Mumbai unit of the Textile Association (India) organised a one-day seminar on ‘Opportunities in Current Challenges in the Weaving Sector’ at Vapi recently, which was attended by more than 200 delegates from various areas of the textile industry. Convener of the seminar Haresh B Parekh said that despite the best efforts to modernise the industry through various schemes such as TUFs, technology mission for technical textiles, the industry is still lacks in the area of weaving technology. Advisor to the seminar Tapan Kumar Chandra said that lot of new research and development for the manufacturing of textile machinery and accessories would go on.

 

A.T.E. Enterprises Pvt Ltd Director G V Aras said that in the coming years, the acronym ‘IT’ would stand for ‘Indian Textiles’ as the Indian textile industry is gearing up fully to meet the global requirements with modern technologies. Textile professionals were felicitated for their outstanding contribution in the field of textile industry. Shyam Master, a very senior weaving consultant and Kiran Threads CEO Hasmukh Shah were presented with lifetime achievement awards as token of appreciation for their land mark achievements.

 

During the technical session, ATE Enterprises Pvt Ltd Senior Manager (Fabric Forming) Guruprasad S Shetty presented a paper on ‘Latest Developments in Warp Preparation (Karl Mayer)’.  He spoke about developments in warping as well as their comparative advantages in achieving enhanced efficiency and quality.

 

Mr. Amit R. Singh, Senior Sales Manager, Itema Weaving (India) Pvt. Ltd. expressed his views on “Innovations in Weaving”. He emphasized the developments in the weaving machines towards achieving higher productivity and better quality. ExxonMobil Lubricants Pvt Ltd Territory Manager (West) Mohit Mahajan presented a paper on ‘Advancing Productivity With Mobil SHC In Textile Industry’.He spoke about the importance of lubricants in achieving the desired performances in the weaving sector with special reference to synthetic lubricants.

 

There was also a panel discussion on ‘Upgrading Weaving Technology to Meet Export Targets’ which was moderated by SASMIRA Research Advisor G S Nadiger. Each panel member shared views about the theme, followed by a one-to-one interaction.Overall, the interactive delivery of various papers as well as one-to-one interaction during panel discussions made the seminar very effective.
