Sasmira, the landmark textile institute at South Central Mumbai’s Worli sea face, is all set to host the Textile marathon, an event to sponsor under-privileged children who otherwise go naked without clothing. The event is slated to take place on July 9 and the final day for registration is July 2.
This marathon, a part of the “No naked child project,” is the initiative of Sasmira Alumni Foundation (SAF). SAF has managed to garner the support of 30,000 alumni, all textile professionals to organize this event which is baptized Texathon.
The alumni of this 50-year-old institute have come together in a big way to lend their voice to the “No Naked Child” project that envisages ensuring that each and every poor and under-privileged child has clothes to wear. The endeavor is supported by SAF along with its partners who lend financial sponsorship.
