Telangana Minister Invites South Korean Textile Giants To Invest In Kakatiya Park

Telangana Industries Minister K T Rama Rao has invited South Korean textile giants to invest in the Kakatiya Textile Park coming up at Warangal district, at a recent meeting held in Hyderabad.

 

The Korea Federation of Textile Industries (KOFOTI) was represented by its chairman and Youngone Corporation chief Kihak Sung at the meeting where the minister explained the benefits in setting up units at the park and requested KOFOTI to be the anchor investor.

 

He said that the textile park which will come up in an area spread over 2,000 acres will host both national and international textile companies, adding that the Telangana government would give better amenities to manufacturers at the park than other states.

 

The state government would create a training centre in order to provide skilled manpower to the textile companies operating in the park, the minister said. He explained the unique features of the state’s industrial policy and hinted at the possibility of allocating a certain portion of land at the park for Korean textile companies.

 

When KOFOTI Chairman Kihak Sung who was enthused by his speech sought details about logistics facilities around the park, the minister assured him that Telangana would make efforts to get permission from the Centre to make the airstrip in Warangal operational.

 

Telangana IT and Industries principal secretary Jayesh Ranjan as well as Handlooms and Textiles director Shailaja Ramaiyer also interacted with the South Korean delegation which is on a two-day visit to Telangana.
