Raf Simons, Woolmark Release 100% Merino Wool Sweaters

Leading fashion designer Raf Simons with The Woolmark Company has released limited edition of 100 per cent Merino wool sweaters. The release is part of the partnership forged between the designer and Woolmark earlier this year and is also an ode to Simons’ love of the Japanese capital. Merino wool has always been an intrinsic element of Simons’ collections.

"It felt natural to celebrate our collaboration by designing an exclusive I Love Tokyo wool sweater for Dover Street Market Ginza, a reference to the Autumn/Winter 17/18 New York show and the beginning of our partnership," said Raf Simons. Made from luxurious yarn spun in Italy, the limited-edition oversized sweaters have ‘I Love Tokyo’ emblazoned in Japanese on the front.

The Woolmark Company partnered with the Belgian-born designer earlier this year for his AW17/18 collection, marking the beginning of a longstanding relationship and working closely with and supporting the Raf Simons design team with innovation and sourcing of Merino wool, Woolmark said in a statement.

The Raf Simons Tokyo sweaters have Woolmark certification and were unveiled on November 30.

"These limited-edition sweaters perfectly connect Raf Simons’ design aesthetic with his love for Tokyo, united by the world’s most luxurious Merino wool," he added.
