Welspun Top Honcho BK Goenka Receives Golden Spindle Award From Saurer

In a recently held felicitation function, global spinning technology major Saurer’s CEO Wolfgang Leupers and Gerd Poehlmann Head of Global Sales Saurer handed over the golden T.F.O Spindle of Volkmann to BK Goenka, the architect of the Welspun group. Goenka is the fifth textile baron in the world to receive this award.

Goenka reminisced of his early visits to Germany and his first impressions when he saw their machines and factories. He expressed gratitude and pride in the felicitation conducted by the Saurer company in honour of his performance in the textile field.

It may be recalled that Welspun’s towels are used by no less than prestigious Wimbledon participants and the cream of the sports fraternity. According to a recent media report Welspun will be diversifying in a big way into the Power sector with an initial investment of INR Rs.30,000 crores.
