AEPC’s New Gurugram Incubation Centre To Help Start Ups Connect With Investors

The new facility set up by the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) in Gurugram will act as a launch pad for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) start-ups in the textile sector, it has been officially announced.

AEPC recently inaugurated its facility in Gurugram region near the national capital. The council has entered into collaboration with 3M and the Association of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Alumni to set up the facility.

The facility will provide a platform for start-ups to connect with investors as well as mentors who could help them achieve efficiency in production.

Speaking about the latest development, APEC Chairman Ashok Rajani said that the textile and clothing sector contributes to more than 5 per cent of India’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Therefore it is important to handhold the units to stand as well as to face the global market and competition. With the facility in place, AEPC aims to achieve the same, he said.

Besides training and mentoring, the facility will also provide information to the industry about creating new knowledge, fashion trends, marketing techniques and management.
