Hunstman India Bites Dust In Delhi High Court

Leading Textile dyes producer Huntsmen India lost the Court battle in the Delhi High court over the issue of jurisdiction in its petition on violation of intellectual property rights against its Indian raw material suppliers. Huntsman had filed a petition in the Delhi High Court issuing a notice for the stay of usage of their proprietary technology by their suppliers who had earlier been partners with them.

The case was dismissed by the judge stating that Huntsman owed the defendants a sum of INR 5 lakhs in the form of damages and also directed Huntsman to appeal in the appropriate jurisdiction in the event it wants relief for the plaint it intends to file.

According to the Delhi High Court order, Huntsman to obtain relief for its plaint will have to freshly file it in the Bombay High Court as was agreed up on by consensus with its raw material suppliers prior to the commencement of the business deal after paying damages.  The plaint was filed against Abiss Textile Solutions Private limited and others. Huntsman is a market leader for producing dyes that are used to make colour textiles.
