Stahl-Ananas Anam Combine Plan To Enhance Performance Sustainability of Piñatex

Stahl, a leading surface expert and Ananas Anam, a pioneer company in innovation and product development within the circular economy, announce their intentions to collaborate to enhance the performance and sustainability of Pinatex, a natural textile made from pineapple leaf fibre. This joint R&D will represent a breakthrough in the sustainable, innovative new materials that are at the forefront of the needs of the 21st century.

Piñatex®

Piñatex® is a natural plant-based and versatile material made of fibres from pineapple leaves, a by-product of the pineapple harvest. From initial sampling to developing a viable supply chain, Piñatex® journey is inspired by the principles of a circular economy and cradle-to-cradle values. Piñatex® is patent-protected and is being marketed to the fashion and accessories, upholstery and automotive industries.

APLF and BLC Conference

During APLF Leather and Materials fair in Hong Kong, from March 14th to March 16th, Stahl and Ananas Anam showcased Piñatex® products at the Stahl booth, hall 1A, booth B02. On March 15th, Michael Costello presented ‘The Circular Economy: Opportunities for the Chemical Industry and Leather Supply Chain’ at the Sustainability in the Leather Supply Chain Conference 2018 in Hong Kong.
