Arvind, Adient Forge JV To Produce Automotive Fabrics For Indian Markets

Adient and Gujarat’s denim major Arvind Ltd have come together to float a joint venture titled Adient Arvind Automotive Fabrics recently. Adient is a US based automotive seating maker. The Joint venture plans to manufacture high-performance fabrics for use in the automotive industry according to corporate honchos from both companies.


The Joint Venture unit will be based in Ahmedabad. It will assume onus for producing high-end performance fabrics for automotive seating systems. According to Jef Vercammen, VP, Global Fabrics, Adient, “Adient’s global fabrics design and technological resources with Arvind’s extensive manufacturing capabilities will enable it to offer the innovative automotive fabrics products to India.”

One of our key pillars is to extend textile manufacturing into newer frontiers outside of fashion and into various spaces like human protection, construction and transport. The partnership will leverage Adient’s market presence and auto motive expertise with Arvind’s textile manufacturing capabilities to provide customers superior and high-quality automotive seating solutions,” disclosed Punit Lalbhai, Executive Director, Arvind Limited in a media statement.
