The ready-made garment exporters in the country received a fillip in the form of an assurance from the central government’s Commerce and Industry ministry to provide them with assistance to resolve all export related issues.
The union ministry offered the assurance to the Tirupur Exporters’ Association (TEA) delegation while presenting a memorandum to Suresh Prabhu, the Commerce and Industry minister. The delegation was on a visit to New Delhi.
The delegation sought from the union ministry a rebate of state levies, GST paid, amended technology upgradation fund scheme and capital subsidy to enhance export growth, disclosed TEA president Raja M Shanmugham.
The President further said, “Our delegation also met the Commerce and Industry Secretary Rita A Teaoltia and Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant.”
