The Lee Cooper Apparel and Footwear brand is slated to acquire a dedicated retailer for its merchandise in India, namely Future Group of Kishore Biyani. The solo retailing contract will take shape in the 2019-2020 financial year, according to highly placed corporate source.
At present, the situation is slightly different with M&B selling Lee Cooper footwear and Biyani’s Future Specialty Retail Ltd selling Lee Cooper apparel. The company is a subsidiary of Future Lifestyle Fashions and is completed owned by it.
Rakesh Biyani, non-executive director Future Lifestyle in a media discussion, remarked “We have been able to grow our Lee Cooper apparel business at a higher clip than the footwear partner, M&B. We plan to double the overall brands business within three years.”
Biyani cited figures about the sales, stating, “Our 12-year-old apparel section has a turnover of INR 370 crore in the first quarter of 2018. Besides, the footwear vertical registered revenue earning of INR 240 crore,” he added.
