Indian Textile Accessories & Machinery Manufacturers' Association organizes its AGM in Mumbai

ITAMMA organized its 70th annual general meeting in Mumbai last week, where the association’s achievements during the year were highlighted. ITAMMA participated in DTG-2013 in Dhaka in January this year, and also in the Vietnam Saigon Textile & Garment Industry Fabric & Garment Accessories Expo 2013, in April in Vietnam. The association will continue its efforts in this direction.

ITAMMA also participated in some of the national exhibitions including VASTRA'2012 (Jaipur) in November 2012, India ITME'2012 (Mumbai) in December, and Vibrant Gujarat (Ahmedabad) in January this year. During the year, ITAMMA organized 18 events, and various seminars on important topics like Lean Management, Organization Alignment for Success in Totality, Industrial Motivation Campaign, Union Budget-2013, Power Living Formula, Challenges and Opportunities for Indian Textile Engineering Industry in Domestic Market through Innovations in Technology and Marketing, etc. The association also launched its new website last year. "In our Cluster Development initiative, Ahmedabad Cluster has completed one Lean Manufacturing Programme with a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of 12 members. Experiencing the benefit that members have derived, the cluster will organize a second program at Ahmedabad and one program each at Mumbai and Coimbatore," informed association officials.

Realizing that resource conservation (energy, water) and automation will be the key areas for future innovation, design awareness programs were organized at Ahmedabad, Coimbatore and Surendranagar. The Design Clinic Scheme has been implemented in the Ahmedabad Cluster and further steps are taken to help members in execution of design development projects. The work of preparing Detailed Project Report (DPR) and Diagnostic Study Report (DSR) by Gujarat Industrial and Technical Consultancy Organization Limited (GITCO) for the Common Facility Centre (CFC) at Ahmedabad is completed and submitted to the authorities for their approval and sanction of funds.
