The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) which had estimated the Indian Cotton Crop estimate for the 2018-19 crop year at 345 lakh bales of 170 kgs each have now reduced their latest estimate by 20 lakh bales to 325 lakh bales of 170 kgs each. The USDA have made this reduction in their latest estimate, which has been released on 10th May 2019 after extensive deliberations with the Cotton Association of India and also after considering all aspects and the prevailing situation in India. As may be recalled, the CAI’s April estimate for the Season 2018-19 has placed the Indian cotton crop at 321 lakh bales of 170 kgs each.
