UKSL Conclave On Sportswear Market Opportunities, On Jan 31, In Mumbai

After the success of a first of its kind project-based conclave on `Manufacturing opportunities and challenges for luggage and bags industry in India’, Unified Knowledge Services Pvt Ltd (UKSL) is now planning its next conclave on sportswear. Themed `Manufacturing opportunities and challenges for sportswear and active wear industry in India’, the event will be held on January 31, 2020 at VJTI, Mumbai. Sportswear and activewear is a promising market in India. Revenue in the Indian sportswear market amounts to US$ 11,377 million in 2018. This is around 9.8% of the global sales in the sportswear market amounting to US$ 116,294 million. Indian sportswear market revenue is expected to grow annually by 13.1% (CAGR 2010-23), while global market is expected to grow by 5% annually. Most of the revenue globally is expected to be generated from the United States (US$ 47,303 million in 2019). In terms of volume, 1205.94 million pieces of sportswear apparel were sold in India in 2018. Per person consumption of sportswear in India is around US$ 8.40 in 2018, compared to US$ 15.96, globally. Track suits and jogging suits are the most sold item of sportswear in India, accounting for 59.71% of the total sportswear market. In comparison, globally, the share of functional wear was 56.78% of the total sportswear market, followed by track suits and jogging suits at 28.06% and swimwear at 15.16%, in 2018. This clearly shows the potential that exists in the Indian market, especially now that people are investing more in sports and active lifestyles. The conclave will present the global and domestic market scenario in sportswear, the export potential for Indian sportswear manufacturers, feasibility discussion for selected sportswear and activewear products, technological solutions. The conclave will also have a panel discussion on opportunities and challenges in this sector. More importantly, there will be a sampling session and discussion on different textile components of sports and activewear. Sport and Swinwear top countries spendings Very successful luggage industry conclave UKSL organised the first of its kind project-based conclave on “Manufacturing Opportunities & Challenges for Luggage & Bags Industry in India” in November 2019. The impact of that conclave resulted in multiple queries for luggage fabric manufacturing and luggage manufacturing units. UKSL along with its sister concern ONELLA Consulting is working on confirmed projects worth Rs 150 crore. The conversion units are planned in Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh and would have a cumulative capacity of 10,000 backpacks, 4000 trolley bags and 4000 duffle bags per day.
