India: Cotton prices soften

Cotton prices in Gujarat (ICS-105, 29 mm variety) are ruling at RS 11,417 a quintal, and have remained quite steady in the last one week. However, cotton prices in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh (ICS-105, 28mm variety) were Rs 11,164 per quintal on November 7, while the prices were high at Rs 11,248 per quintal on November 2.

 

As new crop arrivals begin, prices in the last week have come down slightly. The trend is expected to continue in the coming days.
