The Indian government is taking keen interest in the Indian technical textiles sector, having identified technical textiles as a sunshine industry, and a growth driver for the Indian textile industry. The PLI Scheme For Textiles has incentivised setting up of global capacities in the Indian techtex sector. Textiles Secretary, Upendra Singh, alongwith his team from the Ministry of Textiles, and Textile Commissioner Roop Rashi, have been visiting a number of technical textile facilities in the country. The team of officials recently visited the Advanced Materials Division of Texport Syndicate, in Surat. The team also visited Autotech Nonwoven’s facility, and that of Kusumgar Corporates, among others. The officials spent time to visit the complete factories to understand the products being manufactured, product capabilities, techtex solutions offered to customers. The team of officials also spent time to understand the innovations happening in these companies, and in the sector. The focus was also to understand the capabilities of the Indian technical textile and nonwovens sector under the `Make In India’ initiative.
