LRT expects that LEED will gain as environmental norms get stronger

Lakshmi Ring Travellers, during DTG 2014, is promoting the newly incorporated LEED, an engineering and environmental consultancy service. The company has already completed a number of projects in the textile industry in India and Bangladesh. In an interview with Textile Excellence, J M Balaji, Head, Marketing, Lakshmi Ring Travellers, believes these services are a perfect fit for the Bangladesh industry, where engineering and environmental issues are gaining importance.

How has the Bangladesh market been for Lakshmi Ring Travellers since the last DTG?

Business has been growing for LRT, even as 2013 witnessed some slowdown in the market. 2014 is expected to be much better as there is more stability in the market, which is expected to continue.

What was special from LRT for DTG 2014?

We are promoting our new group company - Lakshmi Engineering and Environmental Design Ltd (LEED), which was promoted in India a month ago. This was a separate division of LRT, into engineering and environmental consultancy, which has now been created into a separate company. We expect the market for such services and solutions to pick up in the country, as environmental issues gain importance. LEED is formed to serve industries in total water management and waste management areas. LEED provides state-of-the-art treatment plant from its overseas technical collaboration and technical tie-up with leading professional consultants. Our customised treatment solutions are mainly focused on equipment quality, long life, technologically advanced solutions, energy efficiency, competitive pricing and minimum operating cost. Fully equipped fabrication and assembly unit ensures quality fabrication and well trained installation team makes sure the equipment installed as per specification and site requirement.

How have these services picked up in India?

Response has been good. Our focus, with this service, is not just the textile industry. We have supplied ZLD plants in India. For our traditional textile products, India has slowed down because investments are not gaining the momentum that was expected. We are a bit sceptical about business in 2014.
