A.T.E. Enterprises and Mag Solvics, from short-term contracts, have now moved towards a long term partnership. Focus on customer service, product quality, technology advancement is the common ground that the two partners have found. In an interview with Textile Excellence, Laxmikant Rathi, Vice President, A.T.E. Enterprises, talks about how the two will take the partnership forward.

A.T.E. and MAG have been working together for some time. How is the partnership evolving and how is it creating value to the companies and customers?

A.T.E. Enterprises has been associated with MAG for more than five years now. The partnership is getting stronger with each passing year. Initially, we had agency agreement with MAG for one year, then for two years and now it is open ended. This shows the trust developed between the two companies. The main beneficiaries of this partnership are our customers, as they are able to get many new products developed by us at very competitive prices.

Which are the products and market segments that MAG has edge over competitors according to you?

Just like A.T.E., MAG has strong values; they are customer centric, committed to give the best quality products. With constant R&D, they ensure that the testing instruments are accurate, reliable and operator friendly. These give MAG an edge over competitors. Further, the introduction of automatic High Volume Tester (HVT) has created a niche. MAG HVT is a product of in-house development and has distinct advantages over competitors. Use of high quality components ensures reliability and longevity. Auto sampler of HVT further ensures ease of operation and higher efficiency.

Can Indian companies be truly global players in QC equipment?

Companies involved in manufacturing testing equipment require good components, good understanding of process parameters and robust software. MAG perfectly fits this criteria; it has world class R&D team with strong I.T. and textile background. Hence the equipment developed is truly world class. With all these competencies, MAG is already on the path to being a global player with exports to more than 10 countries this year.

How is the trend in quality consciousness in Indian spinning sector?

There is no doubt that Indian spinning industry is very developed and mature. Our yarn quality definitely meets international standards, which evidently shows the high level of quality consciousness in spinning sector. Weaving, processing and garment segments are also gearing up fast to meet international standards.

What are A.T.E.'s business plans for Mag and focus areas this year?

A.T.E. will continue to focus on spinning with the new evenness tester and HVT. Apart from spinning, we will also focus on weaving and processing industry. The future plans are aggressive and achievable.
