The Truetzschler Group, in its 486 sq.m stand at India ITME 2022, exhibited the latest machines and technologies from each of its business areas: Spinning, Card Clothing, Nonwovens, and Man-Made Fibers. A team of Truetzschler experts from Germany and India were present at the show. With its latest machines, Truetzschler continues to focus on three main trends – automation, artificial intelligence and digitalisation. “In Barcelona in 2019, we were the first to launch the intelligent card, based on artificial intelligence. As mills witness a short supply of technical skills, they are looking for machines that can do more in terms of maintenance, troubleshooting, etc. And this is where AI comes in. Another important requirement today is digital data at your fingertips. The pandemic taught us to expect the unexpected and be prepared. Digitalisation is thus the need of the hour,” said Thomson Joseph, Director & CEO, Truetzschler India Pvt. Ltd. He further stated: “There was a lot of excitement around this show as it is taking place after a long gap of six years. It was a good opportunity for us to showcase machines live, as compared to virtual demos which had become the norm over the last couple of years.” The excitement is palpable as the show and the Truetzschler booth received lots of high profile clients from across the country. “What’s interesting is that we met non-textile players exploring this sector. We’ve had meetings with some high profile, non-textile players who want to enter this sector,” he informed.
Truetzschler too is investing heavily in expanding its manufacturing capacity in India. “We are setting up our new factory in Sanand, near Ahmedabad. This is the biggest factory that the group is constructing, which will be fully operational by January 2025. With this, there will be huge capacity enhancements – 100% increase in card clothing capacity, in spinning too the company will increase production of combers, lap formers. And similarly, in nonwovens too,” Joseph informed. The shift to the new premises will be in a phased manner, so there is no order disruption. The new card clothing plant is expected to be fully operational by January 2024. “India is on its way to becoming an important manufacturing hub for the group. Already we are the largest subsidiary in the Truetzschler group,” said Joseph. Business sentiments at India ITME 2022 are buoyant. “We have a lot of customers asking for preponement of deliveries. The slowdown would probably be because of the longer lead time of machines. Many European manufacturers are giving a two-year lead time, which is not feasible especially for the medium and small players, who prefer lead times of 6-8 months. And the big projects are happening, the investments are lined up. Every sector, in the last two years, has shown fantastic performance. For us, there is really no slowdown.”
