ITTA, MoD Joint Exhibition Cum Seminar Will Discuss Defence Techtex Needs

The Indian Technical Textile Association (ITTA), alongwith the Ministry of Defence is organizing a joint exhibition cum seminar, with the underlying theme `Make In India’. The two day event will be held from February 26-27, 2015, in New Delhi. This is the first time that the Indian technical textiles industry has been provided an effective platform to interact with the country’s largest consumer of conventional and specialized technical textiles.

 

The event will have various users from the army, navy, air force, para military forces interacting with ITTA members and presenting the requirements of defence forces, defence procurement procedurs, etc, while indigenous manufacturers will get an opportunity to showcase products and capabilities to create a new era of manufacturing and sourcing of these products from India.

 

More than 120 delegates from the following user organizations are expected to attend the event:

1. Head of Army Procurement Agency alongwith related departments

2. Ordnance Factory Board representatives

3. Defence Research & Development Organisation

4. Director General of Quality Assurance

5. Air Force and Navy Procurement Agencies

6. Paramilitary and Central Police Forces Procurement Agencies

7. National Disaster Response Force

 


All technical textile products presently consumed by the defence forces and future products being researched will be on display. Display in exhibiton will include items from Ordnance Factory Board, Defence Research & Development Organisation and Ordnance Services. Approximately 12 to 18 stall have been earmarked for display by the defence.

 

A two-day seminar is organized with five technical sessions on the following broad areas:

1. Defence procurement procedures and budgeting

2. Requirements of Defence Forces

3. DRDO initiatives and latest trends

4. Capabilities, Inventory, Product Improvement and Budgeting of Ordnance Factories

5. Quality Assurance, Testing Facilities and Parameters.
