The
first round of India–Israel Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations commenced
on 23 February 2026 in New Delhi, following the Terms of Reference signed in
November 2025. With bilateral merchandise trade at US$ 3.62 billion (FY24-25),
the FTA aims to enhance trade, economic cooperation, and predictability for
businesses, including MSMEs. Technical sessions cover goods, services, rules of
origin, SPS measures, customs, trade facilitation, and IPR. Commerce Secretary
Rajesh Agrawal highlighted opportunities in innovation, AI, cybersecurity,
high-tech manufacturing, agriculture, and services.
