Sagar Group Completes Major Textile Integration

In a decisive move that strengthens its position in India’s textile value chain, Sagar Manufacturers Pvt. Ltd. (SMPL) has expanded into dyeing and printing, transforming itself into a fully integrated textile player.

The new facility, located in Tamot, Raisen district (Madhya Pradesh), adds 8,000 MT annual capacity of dyed and printed fabrics, marking a significant scale-up from its existing spinning and knitting operations.

By bringing dyeing and printing in-house, SMPL now controls the value chain end-to-end, enabling faster turnaround, deeper customization, and tighter quality control for its global clientele.

The plant is equipped with state-of-the-art European and Japanese machinery, backed by a modern testing laboratory and the district’s first Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) system, signalling a clear push towards sustainable manufacturing.

The move also has a strong employment dimension. The new unit is expected to generate 500+ additional jobs, taking the company’s total workforce beyond 6,000, with women comprising nearly 60%.

With exports to 35+ countries and partnerships with over 200 global brands, SMPL is positioning itself as a serious contender in high-value textile manufacturing. Its existing 28 MW solar power infrastructure further reinforces its sustainability credentials.

Speaking on the development, Siddharth Sudhir Agrawal, Managing Director, Sagar Group, said, “Introduction of dyeing and printing set up in our integrated textile industry will enable us to serve our customers as per their needs and with customizations”

Echoing this, Kapil Kumar Agarwal, CEO, SMPL, added, “Our textile products and value chain is fast changing to provide end-to-end solutions of our products and services to our customers, reinforcing our position as one of the most trusted integrated textile players.”

Hi-tech equipment

The new unit is equipped with globally benchmarked machinery sourced from leading technology providers across Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Japan, and Turkey. It includes advanced dyeing systems such as THIES soft flow machines, Bruckner stenters, Santex dryers, Ichinose rotary printing technology, and fully automated chemical dispensing systems from Eliar. The plant also integrates high-end finishing systems and automated control technologies, ensuring precision, efficiency, and consistency at scale.

A key highlight of the facility is its modern testing laboratory, capable of conducting a comprehensive range of physical and colour fastness tests, ensuring global quality compliance. Importantly, the unit houses the district’s first Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) plant, underlining the company’s commitment to sustainable and responsible manufacturing.

SMPL’s integrated operations now span spinning (250,000 spindles), knitting (18,000 MT capacity), and processing, positioning it as a comprehensive textile solutions provider.

Sustainability remains central to its growth strategy. The company has already installed a 28 MW solar power plant, one of the largest single-location rooftop installations in Madhya Pradesh, contributing significantly to carbon emission reduction.
