The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) reported record performance in FY2025-26, with total sales of Khadi and village industry products reaching an all-time high of ₹1.87 lakh crore. Compared to FY2013-14, overall sales have grown by 501%, while production has increased by 380%. Khadi continued to register strong growth, with production rising nearly fivefold to ₹3,974 crore and sales surging over sevenfold to ₹7,869 crore during the period. The sector's expanding market presence reflects growing consumer acceptance and the impact of initiatives promoting indigenous products. Employment generation also remained a key achievement, with the Khadi and Village Industries sector now supporting 2.04 crore livelihoods, up 56% from 2013-14. Artisan welfare improved significantly, with remuneration increasing from ₹4 per hank to ₹15 per hank, a 275% rise.
