Nishant D Mhatre, a prominent industry leader associated with
the Indian Textile Accessories & Machinery Manufacturers’ Association
(ITAMMA), has been honoured with the National Prestige Award by the Global
Research Foundation, USA. The recognition highlights his contribution to
advancing India’s textile machinery and accessories sector, a critical pillar
supporting efficiency, innovation and competitiveness across the textile value
chain.
Accepting the award, Mhatre described the recognition as a
reflection of the growing strength of India’s textile machinery industry. He
noted that the sector is playing an increasingly important role in enabling
automation, advanced manufacturing and sustainable production. “I see this as a
responsibility to contribute meaningfully towards building a future ready
textile ecosystem in India,” he said.
In an emotional moment, Mhatre dedicated the award to his
wife, Yamini, acknowledging her unwavering support despite health challenges.
India’s textile and apparel industry is projected to reach US$ 350 billion by
2030, reinforcing the importance of indigenous machinery innovation in driving
long term industry growth and global competitiveness.
