Jharkhand’s Textile Moment Arrives!

Jharkhand is rolling out a new industrial roadmap with textiles taking centre stage. The state government has unveiled the draft Jharkhand Textile, Apparel & Footwear Policy 2026 along with the Jharkhand Industrial Investment Promotion Policy (JIIPP) 2026, setting the stage for fresh investments, new manufacturing units and large-scale employment.

The move marks a major push to position Jharkhand as an emerging textile and manufacturing destination. The draft policies, now available on the Jharkhand Single Window Portal, invite suggestions from industry leaders, investors, experts and stakeholders before final approval.

For the textile sector, the proposed policy comes at a crucial time as companies look for new manufacturing destinations backed by infrastructure, skilled manpower and investor-friendly support. The policy is expected to provide momentum to apparel manufacturing, footwear production and allied industries, creating opportunities for MSMEs and large-scale units alike.

Officials said feedback received during the consultation process will be reviewed and incorporated before the policies are placed before the Cabinet for final approval.

Jharkhand’s natural resources, strategic location and growing industrial infrastructure provide a strong foundation for manufacturing growth. With a dedicated textile and apparel policy now in the pipeline, the state is aiming to move beyond raw material advantages and build a complete production ecosystem.

The message from Ranchi is loud and clear: Jharkhand wants a bigger share of India’s textile growth story and the new policy push could be the trigger.
