Sekhani Group To Enhance Its Presence in Women’s Personal Care Arena With An Investment Of Rs 500 Cr

Ahmedabad-based textiles player Sekhani Group has ventured into the women's personal care and hygiene space under the brand name of 'Wonder Wings'. The group is planning an investment of about Rs 500 crore over the next five years, of which around Rs 150 crore would go into setting up the new plant at Sanand, Gujarat. With this investment, Sekhani Group aims at producing 800 million pieces of sanitary napkins per annum and to create job for about 1000 people The Sanand plant would have a production capacity of 1.2 million napkins per day and will gradually be scaled up to achieve the targets. In future, Sekhani Group is also planning to venture in to baby diapers, adult diapers and other related products categories & setup facilities for the same. Sekhani Group is planning to tie up with NGOs, government and institutions to create awareness about hygiene amongst the young girls and women by promoting extensively in Schools and Colleges. For starters, the Group is aiming to distribute complimentary sanitary napkin to one million girls who have never used this hygiene practice in past.
