SSM: People Have Very Good Reasons To Hope For An ITMA In India In Future

A confident smile welcomed us to the SSM booth. While we began conversing about business, ITMA and everything around it with Ernesto Maurer, CEO, SSM, visitors kept flowing in good numbers almost every minute. The more the better, after all it was ITMA. The jolly mood pumped in some energy into our spirits too. In conversation with the gracious man, Ernesto Maurer.

How has ITMA been for you?

Excellent! We came to ITMA with lots of hopes and expectations. We were brimming with energy from our visitors since the beginning of the show and we have surpassed our targets. We have built extremely good contact base this time at ITMA and had one of the best responses from countries like India, China, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

What about customers for the specific product range?

We have had a good number of visitors addressing specific requirements and queries. For our manmade fibre and synthetic fibre segment we have had targeted queries and response from countries like Indonesia, Taiwan and Turkey. Definitely this ITMA has proved to be a better season as compared to the earlier. I have been attending ITMA's since the last 24 years and over these years, 2015 was the best year.

How have the innovations you brought been received by the visitors here?

We decided to bring only new innovations to this ITMA. And keeping true to our decision we have only got eight new innovations to ITMA this year. We have been highly appreciated for the same. But unfortunately staying ahead of time with innovations has its own drawbacks and we know tomorrow we will be copied by our competitors.

Are you apprehensive of these competitors?

Not really. Because by the time they copy us, we will be one step ahead of them. Also they can copy and sell cheap. But they will never be able to replicate the quality assurance that SSM promises.

How do you reflect on the market in the coming year?

The market is quite hopeful in 2016. We are going to see a considerable growth and when I say growth I mean in Asia. Markets in Asian countries like India and Bangladesh are definitely going to be superbly blessed in the upcoming months.

Do you think India has a hope to host an ITMA soon?

Highly hopeful. The Chinese are more unified and more open when it comes to bidding for ITMA so far. People have very good reasons to hope for an ITMA in India in future. India only needs to speak in one voice, come up & get things right.
