A major fire broke out at a textile factory in South East Delhi’s Okhla on Thursday around 9.50 a.m. Even though no casualties were reported, it took 24 fire tenders over two hours to put out the fire. Those present in the factory at the time of the accident said that a spark caused in a machine, which spins velvet cloth caused the fire adding that because of the combustibility of the fabric, it soon spread to the whole factory.A fireman added that other chemicals, some of them inflammable, stored all around in the compound further worsened the situation. Officials say that there were not many workers in the factory at the time of incident.
