Oerlikon Appoints Jochen Adler As Head Of Development Of Its Manmade Fibres Segment

Oerlikon has appointed Jochen Adler as the Head of Development of its manmade fibres segment, the company has officially announced.

 

The development has come after the retirement of his predecessor Dr Klaus Schäfer from the company, according to an official release. Jochen has headed development management project at Oerlikon's manmade fibre division for a decade. The 45-year-old machine construction graduate engineer has worked in various areas of research and development at Oerlikon Barmag. "His predecessor Dr Klaus Schäfer decisively shaped the company for more than 30 years.

 

His development work has been decisive in establishing us as a technology leader in the market, which is something we continue to benefit from," Oerlikon CEO Georg Stausberg said, commenting on Jochen's predecessor who retired as the company's Chief Technology Officer. Dr Klaus Schäfer headed the development division at Oerlikon Barmag and Oerlikon Neumag, for more than 30 years. It was under Dr Schäfer's leadership that technologies like EvoQuench radial quenching system, WINGS winder for POY and FDY filaments and the Sytec One BCF system for polyester recycling applications were developed. Dr Schäfer will remain a member of the board of the Barmag Brückner Engineering (BBE) joint venture in Remscheid, the release said.
