Maksteel Assures Quality, Service To Its Customers

MakSteel is among the top three companies in the world which makes wire healds using oil tempered wire. Arpit Sidhpura, Director of MakSteel Wire Healds Pvt. Ltd. spoke to Textile Excellence about its products and his company's plans

What did you showcase during India ITME 2016?

We displayed our products for electronic jacquard looms namely, guide boards, harness cords, comber boards, as well as wire healds with spring assembly. And a newly launched special product - stainless steel mono wire jacquard healds with spring assembly. We have a joint collaboration with Groz Beckert of Germany for this product.

Is this a technical collaboration?

No. This is purely to market the product. Groz-Beckert is the principal and we market their product which is manufactured in Germany.

How was response?

We have received a good response. Customers in India are not willing to import harnesses because similar products of the same quality are available in India at a better price. We have improved our harness cords by incorporating new European technology, which has increased its life by up to two times than its earlier versions. We are receiving good feedback from our European customers who have been consuming our product. We export this product to more than 22 countries.

What about other products?

For our nickel wire healds, we use oil tempered wire which has high tensile strength as well as more atmospheric resistivity. MakSteel is among the top three companies in the world which makes wire healds using oil tempered wire. A sister concern of MakSteel called Trefileries Wire India Pvt Ltd has imported the technology, plant and machinery from a French company called Trefileries du Beuchot for the production of oil tempered wire in India. The plant is located 15 km from MakSteel, in Vadodara, Gujarat.

What are the other initiatives taken up by MakSteel?

MakSteel has also purchased plant machinery and technical knowhow from Bekaert India for the production of stainless steel wire in order to manufacture jacquard loom healds. MakSteel has focussed on backward integration to produce quality raw materials required to manufacture its own products.

Could you name some of your customers?

Some of our customers are Picanol and GTP Burckley of France. In India, our customers are Siyaram, D'décor and many more.

What is it that your customers have appreciated in your products?

They have appreciated our product quality, the technical support which we provide as well as our delivery time.

Did you close any deals?

We have closed some deals and done some deals with our agents. We have appointed two new agents - one in North India and another in Western India. We plan to open an office in China very soon.
