Textile Secretary Gives Thumbs Up Signal For Promoting Growth In Exports

Secretary from the ministry of textiles, Anant Kumar Singh announced at an inauguration in Greater Noida that the ministry has undertaken a stream of projects to boost exports in the textile sector.

 

It was the inauguration of the 45th IGHF-Delhi fair that had commenced recently at the India Expo Centre & Mart.

 

Textiles being a decentralized sector, requires boost to generate employment in the country in  a big way. This also serves to improve our export volumes and enhances GDP figures. It further improves the living standards of poor craft-persons who are occupied with the manufacture of handicrafts, he explained.

 

Singh was highly appreciative of the Export Promotion Council’s efforts in promoting handicrafts. He said, this creates a marketing platform in the form of IHGF-Delh fair. The handicraft sector is bound to receive a boost.

 

The officers from the textile ministry also said that their experience in the recently held Ambiente 2018 fair in Frankfurt was very fruitful and positive. The fair had upward of 400 participants, all exporters and that too best in the world. In fact, Messe Frankfurt had declared India as a partner country for Ambiente 2019.
